The group then explores the case through a Gestalt lens, with both group supervision from those attending and the faculty supervision of Jack Worthy. The learning focus is on refining case conceptualization using core Gestalt concepts.

This four-week experiential workshop draws from Gestalt principles. We will explore what happens when we loosen our investment in trying to determine what our clients need or where the work should go, and instead cultivate greater awareness of ourselves as instruments of listening, observation, reflection, and contact.

Rather than a didactic training, this series will offer a space for reflection, dialogue, and shared exploration. We will use guided prompts, writing, and conversation to notice our patterns to discover what helps us feel engaged, purposeful, and alive in our work.

The intention is not to develop a new set of techniques, but to cultivate renewal through awareness—to reconsider how we want to inhabit our work.

The workshop will meet for four 90-minute sessions, with a small group of no more than 10 participants.

This workshop invites mental health clinicians into an experiential exploration of healing that integrates Gestalt theory, Indigenous healing traditions, and contemporary research into consciousness and noetic experience. Grounded in field-theoretical and relational frameworks, the training examines how shifts in awareness, meaning, and felt sense often function as central mechanisms of therapeutic change — particularly in the treatment of trauma and relational wounding. 

 Participants will examine how Western mental health models have been shaped by colonial, mechanistic, and reductionist assumptions that frequently marginalize spiritual, ecological, and transpersonal dimensions of experience.  We will explore research and frameworks that recognize healing is not limited to symptom reduction; it involves a reorganization of one's relationship to self, others, and environment

Through didactic teaching, experiential exercises, and reflective inquiry, clinicians will develop more expansive and culturally responsive approaches to practice — learning to apply trauma-informed and non-pathologizing frameworks that honor Indigenous epistemologies, engage embodied and symbolic dimensions of healing, and contribute to the ongoing decolonization of mental health care.

Putting pencil to paper (or marker or chalk — or using clay or a variety of other materials) leaves a residue that evidences our “doing-together.” From this view of mark-making, we can explore novel experiences at the contact-boundary in a multi-dimensional way.

This interactive-group weekend workshop will use experiential exercises to explore mark-making experiments as Gestalt therapy interventions. We will discover how variations on these interventions emerge from the experience together and impact the relational field. The experiential group is grounded in Gestalt theory to support incorporation of mark-making into the arc of on-going therapy.

This interactive group weekend workshop is in-person and intended for alumni and trainees of Gestalt Associates for Psychotherapy. Others with similar Gestalt therapy training may be accepted with approval of the instructor. (Contact Todd at tsenzon@gmail.com.)

The perinatal period holds many specific implications for mental health treatment. In this workshop, we will explore how therapists can integrate Gestalt Therapy theory and Winnicott's concepts into clinical work with clients during the perinatal period. It is a time of profound transition, marked by embodied changes, shifts in identity and relationships, increased emotional vulnerability, changing expectations of self, and changes in the family dynamic.

We will use experiential learning: , guided discussion, case examples, personal reflection, and peer case consultation.  Participants will examine their beliefs about motherhood and parenting, explore cultural expectations, societal pressures, and intergenerational patterns.  This learning exploration will take place in person at the Gestalt Associates’ offices.
