with Patricia Tucker, LCSW
This one-day, in-person workshop offers the Gestalt group therapist tools for structuring the ground with their group members in a way that provides a safe foundation and promotes authentic, embodied contact.
We begin with discussing ways that Gestalt therapy theory informs our interventions as Gestalt group leaders. We will look at how our focusing on phenomenology, somatic experience, field theory, creative adjustment, polarities, and the paradoxical theory of change, lead us to the interventions we make as Gestalt group leaders.
Next, through dyadic exercises and experiential group process, we will experience together the ways that a structured, dialogical approach deepens contact, enlivens our group’s experience, and allows us reach toward authentic dialogue.
Date: Saturday, October 10, 2026
Time: 10am – 2pm, 4 CE hours
Location: In person, at the GAP offices, 36 West 25th St., 10th Floor
